The flight to and from the airport Basel-Mulhouse, F-A320 Air France GFKC is gear down, low speed and low altitude (100 feet) for a presentation at a meeting air above the aerodrome Habsheim (near Mulhouse). In addition to 6 crew members, it carries 130 passengers for the short flight demonstration, some journalists and people making a first flight on this new generation of Airbus aircraft. The aircraft can not go around and the rear of the aircraft hangs the treetops and crashed into the forest in the end. Many witnesses present at the meeting, filmèrent the scene. The accident killed 3 people, all three passengers and injured a hundred others. Two passengers died, a young girl and a quadriplegic seem to be stuck in the wreckage of the plane and died in the fire that followed a few minutes later and a third person come rescue them.

Certains passagers qui ont survécu au crash ont témoigné avoir entendu des "bangs" des réacteurs avant la remise des gaz! Michel Asseline (le pilote aux commandes) avait reporté juste après le crash que les réacteurs n'ont pas réagi à temps alors que la protection Alpha Floor est inhibée au deçà de 100 pieds AGL. On ne sait plus qui croire dans cette histoire...en tout cas l'EADS ne devait surtout pas laisser la notoriété de ses avions Airbus se compromettre ...

No airliner (by law) can make a demonstration flight for an airplane without the passengers consent. The passengers have to know that they are going to do a low speed/ low altitude fly by, especially when the gear is fully extended with flaps down and the is no runway underneath.
